Middle East

Launched in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in 2010, Tetley is a relatively young and fresh brand in the Middle East with a number of teas available accross all six GCC markets.

In 2013, the brand went through a major re-launch in Kuwait, and now is being re-launched across the rest of the GCC, which includes Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, Qatar and Bahrain.

While black tea constitutes about 90% of tea consumption in the Middle East, green tea is becoming very popular with growing awarness on 'health and wellness'.

Tetley now offers a range of black, green and decaf teas to address various consumer needs:

  • Tetley Strong is specially designed to give a fuller flavour with more tea in a bag than standard black tea bags. The blend has been carefully developed to fit the Middle East consumer’s taste and has become a bestseller since its launch.
  • Tetley Golden is a unique blend of high quality teas, like Ceylon and other orthodox teas, perfect for those black tea lovers who prefer a smoother and more rounded taste.
  • Tetley Pure Green and Mint Green teas are steamed and not roasted to impart a fresher, milder taste that overcomes the bitterness in traditional green teas.
  • Tetley Decaf has the great taste of Tetley Black Strong Tea, with no caffeine. It’s the perfect tea for those wanting to reduce their caffeine intake and it also goes well with unwinding after a long day.

In 2017, Tetley entered the loose tea category with a unique offering - Tetley Loose Tea, a blend of long and short tea leave that is available in two variants:

  • Tetley Gold has 15% long leaves to deliver a fantastic aroma that combines with short leaves that lend a richer flavour.
  • Tetley Strong also has 15% long leaves but this variant is combined with the finest dust to deliver extra strength.

Tetley also has a unique Drawstring teabag format that allows you to squeeze out the very last drop of your tea by simply pulling the tags.

The latest wave of innovation includes Tetley Black with Mint – an idea based on the habit of Middle East consumers who take their black tea with fresh mint leaves; and Decaf for those who want to enjoy the real taste of black tea minus the caffeine.
