Tetley launches ‘Ethnic’ range of tea bags in UK

Tata Global Beverages, the No. 2 branded tea company in the world and brand owners of Tetley Tea, UK’s iconic tea brand with a heritage of more than 180 years, is pleased to announce the launch of Tetley’s ‘Ethnic’ range of speciality Indian flavoured tea aimed at the South Asian diaspora living in the UK and Europe.

The range has three all-time favourite flavours: Tetley Masala, Tetley Elaichi (Cardamom) and Tetley Ginger. “This is the first time a mainstream tea brand is disrupting the tea category by offering an authentic ‘Desi (local) Chai’ experience in a tea bag format”, says Adil Ahmad, President - International Business, Tata Global Beverages.

“Unlike other Indian spiced teas and Chai mixes which are targeted mainly towards the mainstream tea consumers, Tetley’s Ethnic range has specifically been blended and packed in India keeping the South Asian diaspora in mind. It really is a game-changer for all ethnic independent stores and mainstream retailers with a world food offering who want to provide an authentic ‘Indian Tea’ range to their South Asian consumers”, says Rahul Kale, Export Consultant to Tata Global Beverages.

Tetley has a brand presence in over 40 countries, with millions of cups of tea enjoyed every day. And, the new Tetley Ethnic range offers British Asian customers yet another alternative to their daily cuppa. The range will be marketed at the RRP of £3.49 for 72 tea bags.
